Gum Treatment Cost in Dubai: What Deep Cleaning and Gum Care Are Priced On

Gum treatment is priced on what charting finds: how many areas have pockets, how deep they are, and how much maintenance follows. This page explains each part of the quote.

Quick answer

How much does gum treatment cost in Dubai?

Gum treatment cost in Dubai depends on the stage of disease and how much of the mouth is affected. Gingivitis is usually treated with a professional clean and better home care; periodontitis needs deep cleaning of the affected areas under local anaesthetic, a re-evaluation and regular maintenance. At Creative Arts the gums are charted first, and each phase appears on a written, itemised plan before treatment starts.

What changes gum treatment cost in Dubai?

Two people with "gum disease" can need very different treatment. These are the parts of a quote and what moves each one. Relative terms only, because the plan follows your measurements.

Published prices for gum treatment in Dubai vary widely, partly because some quote one area and others the whole mouth. Our guide to dental costs in Dubai explains how quotes are built across treatments.

Per quadrant

How much is deep cleaning per quadrant?

Many clinics price deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) per quadrant, meaning one quarter of the mouth: upper right, upper left, lower left or lower right. Others price per session or per tooth. The unit matters less than the count: a quote for "one quadrant" and a quote for "full-mouth deep cleaning" describe very different amounts of work.

The honest number of areas comes from periodontal charting, where the depth of the pocket around each tooth is measured at several points, together with X-rays of the bone where needed. Healthy pockets are usually 1 to 3 mm deep, according to the US National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research; deeper pockets can be a sign of periodontitis. If only a few teeth have deep pockets, only those areas need deep cleaning. Our page on deep cleaning explains the treatment visit by visit, and gum pockets explains what the numbers mean.

Why it costs more

Why does gum treatment cost more than a normal cleaning?

A routine cleaning removes plaque and tartar above and just below the gum line on healthy gums. Gum disease treatment goes further: tartar and bacterial deposits are removed from the root surfaces inside pockets that can be several millimetres deep. That takes longer per tooth, usually needs local anaesthetic, and is often split over more than one visit so each area can be done carefully.

It is also a course of treatment rather than one appointment. The gums are measured before and after, home care is coached, and maintenance follows. The comparison of scaling vs deep cleaning explains the difference in more detail, and our teeth cleaning cost page covers routine cleaning on healthy gums.

Over a year

What do gum maintenance visits cost over a year?

Periodontitis is controlled rather than cured, so the true cost of treatment includes the visits that keep it stable.

  • Maintenance intervalAfter treatment, maintenance cleaning is often every 3 to 4 months at first. If the gums stay stable, the interval may be lengthened.
  • Re-treatment of some areasEuropean guidelines advise repeating cleaning below the gum line for pockets that remain moderately deep after the first round.
  • Smoking and diabetesBoth make gum disease harder to control. The CDC notes that gum treatment may not work as well in people who smoke, which can mean more maintenance.
  • Home careDaily cleaning between the teeth is the biggest factor you control. Good plaque control is what makes longer intervals possible.
Options compared

Laser vs conventional gum treatment price: what each option does

A higher price does not always mean a better result. Each option has a different job, and most gum disease starts with thorough non-surgical cleaning.

OptionWhat it doesWhere it fitsRelative cost
Professional clean with GBTRemoves biofilm and tartar above and just below the gum lineGingivitis and maintenanceLower
Deep cleaning (scaling and root planing)Cleans root surfaces inside pocketsPeriodontitis; the core treatmentModerate, per area
Laser alongside cleaningTreats soft tissue in the pocket in addition to cleaningSelected cases, if the dentist judges it usefulAdds an item
Gum surgeryOpens the gum to clean deep pockets that did not respondSome deep pockets after re-evaluationHigher; a separate phase

The American Academy of Periodontology reports that adding a laser to mechanical treatment gives similar or slightly better results, with no added benefit over conventional periodontal surgery, and that the evidence is not definitive. See laser gum treatment and gum flap surgery; whether surgery suits you, and whether it is done here or by referral, is decided after re-evaluation.

The cost of waiting

Early gum disease caused by plaque can often be reversed with daily brushing and flossing and a professional clean. Left untreated, it can destroy the bone that supports the teeth, which may loosen and eventually need removal, according to the NIDCR. Replacing teeth costs far more than keeping them, which is why a gum assessment is worth having as soon as gums bleed regularly.

From assessment to a firm plan

How you get a written gum treatment quote

A gum quote should follow measurements, not a look in the mirror.

  1. Charting and X-rays

Pocket depths, bleeding and gum recession are recorded around every tooth, with X-rays of the bone where needed.

  2. Diagnosis

Gingivitis or periodontitis, how far it has progressed, and your risk factors are explained.

  3. Itemised plan

Each phase is listed with its cost: cleaning, deep cleaning by area, re-evaluation and maintenance.

  4. Re-measure and adjust

After healing the pockets are measured again, and the next step is planned from the results.

Patient questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the gum treatment cost in Dubai for deep cleaning?

It depends on how many areas have pockets and how deep they are. Deep cleaning of one or two areas costs far less than treating the whole mouth. At Creative Arts the number of areas comes from periodontal charting, and each is listed on a written plan with the re-evaluation and maintenance that follow.

Is deep cleaning priced per quadrant?

Many clinics in Dubai price deep cleaning per quadrant, a quarter of the mouth; others price per visit or per tooth. Whatever the unit, ask how many areas are included and how that number was decided. It should come from measured pocket depths, not from a standard full-mouth package.

Why does gum treatment cost more than a normal cleaning?

Because it cleans root surfaces inside pockets below the gum line, which takes longer per tooth, usually needs local anaesthetic and is often split over several visits. It is also a course of care: the gums are measured before and after, and regular maintenance follows to keep the disease stable.

What do gum maintenance visits cost over a year?

That depends on the interval. After treatment for periodontitis, maintenance cleaning is often every 3 to 4 months at first, so plan for three or four visits a year. If your gums stay stable and home care is good, the interval may be lengthened. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes can mean more frequent visits.

Is laser gum treatment more expensive than conventional treatment?

A laser used alongside cleaning usually adds an item to the plan. It does not replace deep cleaning, which removes the deposits causing the disease. The American Academy of Periodontology reports similar or slightly better results when a laser is added, with no added benefit over conventional surgery, so it is used only where the dentist judges it useful.

Does insurance cover gum treatment in Dubai?

It depends on your policy. Because gum treatment treats a disease rather than appearance, it may be assessed differently from cosmetic work, but cover varies widely. The itemised plan, with charting results, makes it easier to check each item with your insurer before treatment.

Will I need gum surgery, and what would it add?

Most gum disease is treated without surgery. Surgery is considered only for pockets that remain deep after deep cleaning and good home care, and it would be a separate phase with its own cost. Whether it suits you, and whether it is done here or by referral, is decided after your gums are re-measured.
