Are veneers right for me?

What is a veneer, in plain words?

A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain or composite that is bonded to the front of a tooth to change its colour, shape or length. It covers the visible surface only, unlike a crown, which wraps the whole tooth. Veneers suit teeth that are healthy but stained, chipped, worn, uneven or slightly gapped. A first consultation tells you whether your teeth fit that description. Read the full page

Will people be able to tell my teeth are veneers?

Well-made veneers are usually hard to spot because they copy the small details of natural teeth: slight translucency at the edges, surface texture and a shade that suits your skin and lower teeth. Veneers look obvious when they are too thick, too white or all identical. Ask to see the design and a mock-up in your own mouth before anything is made. Read the full page

Do my teeth get shaved down to small pegs for veneers?

No. Shaving teeth to pegs is how crowns are prepared, not veneers. A conventional veneer usually needs about half a millimetre of enamel removed from the front surface, and some cases need little or no preparation at all. How much is removed depends on the position and colour of your teeth, and the dentist should explain it before you agree to anything. Read the full page

Once I get veneers, am I stuck with them for life?

If enamel has been prepared, that tooth will always need a covering of some kind, so veneers are a long-term commitment and should be treated as one. They are replaced when worn or damaged, often after many years. No-prep or minimal-prep veneers keep more of your own tooth and leave more options later. Composite bonding is the more reversible starting point. Read the full page

My teeth are healthy but a bit yellow. Are veneers too much?

Often, yes. If the only problem is colour, in-clinic or home whitening is the conservative first step and leaves the enamel untouched. Veneers make more sense when colour is combined with chips, wear, uneven edges or very dark staining that whitening cannot lift. A dentist can show you what whitening alone is likely to achieve before you consider veneers. Read the full page

Is it halal to get veneers just to look better?

Scholars hold different views, and many distinguish between correcting a defect, such as a broken, stained or misshapen tooth, and changing healthy teeth purely for beauty. Minimal-prep options remove less of the natural tooth, which some patients prefer for this reason. For a personal ruling, ask a scholar you trust; the dentist can explain exactly what the treatment involves so you can ask clearly. Read the full page

What are the honest downsides of veneers?

Prepared enamel does not grow back, veneers can chip or come off, and they will need replacing at some point, which is a future cost. Some people have short-term sensitivity, and poorly shaped edges can irritate the gums. Veneers also cannot fix a bad bite on their own. Knowing these points in advance helps you decide whether a smaller treatment is enough. Read the full page

My front teeth have big old fillings. Can they still take veneers?

Usually yes, if enough healthy enamel remains for the veneer to bond to. Old fillings are checked and often replaced first so the veneer sits on a sound base. When a tooth is more filling than tooth, or has had a root canal and is weak, a crown can be the safer choice. An examination and X-ray decide which applies to each tooth. Read the full page

Which type of veneer, and how many?

Porcelain, E.max or composite veneers: what is the real difference?

Composite veneers are made of resin, shaped directly on the tooth, and are quicker and more repairable but stain and wear sooner. Porcelain veneers, including E.max (lithium disilicate) and feldspathic porcelain, are made in a dental lab, keep their shine and colour longer and usually last longer. The right choice depends on your teeth, your bite and how long you want the result to last. Read the full page

Is porcelain worth the extra money over composite veneers?

For many people it is, because porcelain resists staining from coffee, tea and karak and typically lasts much longer, so it is replaced less often. Composite still makes sense for small changes, younger patients, a budget-conscious first step or when you want something easy to adjust. Your written plan can show both options side by side so you can compare them fairly. Read the full page

Do I need eight, ten or just a couple of veneers?

It depends on how many teeth show when you smile widely. Some people show six upper teeth, many show eight to ten. Treating fewer teeth than you show can leave a visible step in colour or shape. Others only need one or two veneers to fix a chip or a gap. Smile photos and a digital design show the number for your face. Read the full page

Should I do my bottom teeth as well as my top ones?

Only if your lower teeth show clearly when you talk or smile, or if they are worn, chipped or much darker than the planned upper shade. Many people show little of their lower teeth, and whitening them is often enough to blend with upper veneers. Lower veneers also need enough space in your bite, which the dentist checks first. Read the full page

Are the very white BL veneer shades a bad idea?

Not always, but they suit fewer people than you might expect. The BL shades are whiter than any natural tooth, so they can look artificial against darker skin, lips or lower teeth. Many people are happier one or two steps warmer. Try the shade in a mock-up, in daylight, and look at it in photos before you choose. Read the full page

Veneers or aligners for slightly crooked front teeth?

If your teeth are healthy and the problem is mainly position, aligners or braces move the teeth themselves without removing enamel, though they take months. Veneers can mask mild crowding faster but may need more preparation on teeth that stick out. Some people do a short course of aligners first so veneers need less drilling. A dentist can show both routes. Read the full page

Can I fix just one tooth with a veneer and leave the rest?

Yes, a single veneer is common for one chipped, dark or misshapen front tooth. It is also one of the hardest cases to get right, because the new tooth must match the neighbours exactly in colour, translucency and texture. A technician who can see your teeth in person makes this easier. Bonding is a cheaper alternative for small chips. Read the full page

How much are veneers, and where in Dubai?

How much is a single veneer at Creative Arts in Dubai?

At Creative Arts, veneers start from AED 1,250 per tooth. The final price depends on the material, such as E.max, feldspathic porcelain or composite, and on how many teeth are treated, and it is written in your itemised plan after a free first consultation. You know the total before any treatment starts. Read the full page

Why does the material change the price of a veneer?

Each material takes different time and skill. Composite is shaped by the dentist in the chair, while porcelain and E.max are designed, pressed or milled and finished by hand in a dental lab, which adds lab time and materials. Hand-layered feldspathic porcelain takes the longest. Your plan shows the material chosen for each tooth so you can see where the cost comes from.

What should a veneers quote in Dubai actually list?

A useful quote lists the number of teeth, the material for each, whether a digital design and mock-up are included, temporary veneers, any gum shaping, whitening or fillings needed first, and the review visit. Two quotes can only be compared when they include the same things. Ask for it in writing and ask what is not included. Read the full page

Can I get an idea of my veneer options on WhatsApp first?

Yes. You can send clear smile photos to the clinic on WhatsApp, +971 56 677 7537, for a free photo assessment. It gives a first idea of whether veneers, bonding or whitening suits you. A final plan and price need an in-person examination, because photos cannot show decay, gum health or your bite.

Where is the clinic for veneers, and when is it open?

Creative Arts is at 614 Jumeira St, Jumeirah 3, Umm Suqeim 1, Dubai, and is open seven days a week from 10:00 to 20:00. The dental laboratory that makes the veneers is a separate business in the same building. Appointments can be booked by phone on +971 4 342 4444 or on WhatsApp. Read the full page

I live in Abu Dhabi or Sharjah. How do I plan veneers in Dubai?

Most people start by sending photos on WhatsApp, then book a consultation in Jumeirah. Veneers usually need two to three visits, and the dentist can group appointments so you travel as few times as possible. Prices are the same whichever emirate you live in. The clinic has one location, in Dubai. Read the full page

How long should I stay in Dubai if I fly in for veneers?

Plan for about one to two weeks. The lab typically needs three to five working days after preparation, and you should stay a few days after fitting so the bite and gums can be checked. Sending photos before you book helps the dentist tell you whether your case fits that time frame. Read the full page

Can I trust the clinic with my veneers?

Which dentist will do my veneers at Creative Arts?

Veneers at Creative Arts are planned and fitted by Dr. Duaa Emran, a cosmetic dentist focused on veneers and smile design, Dr. Kinan Bonni, Dr. Khalid Saeed and Dr. Somar Dahdal. You meet your dentist at the consultation, and the same dentist normally sees you through preparation, try-in and fitting. Read the full page

How do I check that a Dubai dentist is licensed before veneers?

Every dentist in Dubai must hold a licence from the Dubai Health Authority. You can search the dentist's name on the DHA Sheryan public register to see their licence type and status. It takes a few minutes and is worth doing for any clinic, including ours. Read the full page

Why does it matter where my veneers are made?

The lab decides much of how natural a veneer looks. At Creative Arts the veneers are made by Creative Art Dental Lab, a separate business in the same building, so the technician can see your teeth in person under the same light as the dentist when matching the shade. Adjustments are quicker too, though veneers are never made the same day. Read the full page

Can I see what my veneers will look like before my teeth are touched?

Yes, and you should insist on it at any clinic. A digital smile design is made from photos and scans, then turned into a mock-up that is placed over your own teeth so you can see and feel the result. You can ask for changes to shape, length or shade before any preparation is done. Read the full page

Where can I see real veneer results and reviews?

The clinic publishes before and after photos of patients treated there, and you can read reviews on Google, where Creative Arts is rated 4.8 from 238 reviews. When looking at photos anywhere, check that the teeth look natural in close-ups, not only from a distance. Read the full page

During and after veneers

How many days do I need to set aside for veneers?

Most veneer cases need two to three visits over roughly one to two weeks: consultation and design, preparation with temporaries, and fitting. Each visit takes a few hours at most, and most people return to work the same day. Complex cases, or ones that need gum or orthodontic work first, take longer. Read the full page

Will I have gaps or no front teeth while I wait for my veneers?

No. If teeth are prepared, temporary veneers are placed the same day so you can talk, smile and go to work while the lab makes the final ones. Temporaries are more fragile, so avoid biting hard foods with your front teeth until the permanent veneers are fitted. Read the full page

Does having veneers prepared hurt?

Preparation is done under local anaesthetic, and most people feel pressure, not pain. The numbness lasts a few hours. Some teeth feel sensitive to cold for a few days afterwards, which usually settles on its own. People who are very anxious can discuss sedation options with the dentist beforehand. Read the full page

What can I eat on the day my veneers are fitted?

You can eat once the numbness wears off, but soft foods are kinder for the first day while you get used to the new shape. After that you can eat normally. In the long term, avoid biting directly into very hard things such as ice, bones or nut shells with your front teeth. Read the full page

What can go wrong with veneers, and what happens if it does?

The common problems are a chip, a veneer coming loose, sensitivity, or gums that look irritated at the edges. Most can be repaired, re-bonded or adjusted, and a single veneer can be remade without redoing the others. Contact the clinic as soon as something changes and keep a loose veneer safe to bring with you. Read the full page

How do I make my veneers last as long as possible?

Brush twice a day, clean between your teeth, keep regular check-ups and cleanings, and do not use your teeth as tools. If you grind or clench, wear a night guard. Porcelain veneers commonly last ten to fifteen years or more with good care, and composite veneers typically need attention sooner. Read the full page

Special situations

My wedding is in two months. Is there still time for veneers?

Often yes, because a straightforward veneer case usually takes one to two weeks. Two months leaves time for the design, mock-up, any whitening and a fitting with a few weeks to spare for small adjustments. Start sooner if you also need gum shaping or orthodontics, and avoid leaving the fitting to the final week. Read the full page

I'm really scared of the dentist. Can I still get veneers?

Yes. Tell the dentist at the consultation so the visits can be planned at your pace, with clear explanations and breaks. Preparation is done under local anaesthetic. If needed, sedation such as laughing gas, oral sedation or IV sedation can be arranged after a medical review, given by a licensed clinician. Read the full page

Should I wait until after my baby is born to get veneers?

Most dentists advise postponing elective cosmetic work such as veneers until after pregnancy. Gums change during pregnancy, which makes shade and gum-line matching less reliable, and some X-rays and medicines are better avoided. Check-ups and cleanings are still important. You can plan the design now and start treatment later. Read the full page
