Quick answer

Who looks after my veneers or implants once I am back home in the US?

Your local dentist in the US handles routine check-ups, cleaning and X-rays, using the records you bring home from Creative Arts in Dubai. For questions about the treatment itself, such as a veneer that feels high or an implant that feels sore, send the clinic a photo on WhatsApp during Dubai opening hours. Severe swelling, or difficulty breathing or swallowing, needs a hospital emergency department immediately.

Which records should you take home to your US dentist?

Ask for these before your last appointment in Dubai. They let any dentist see what was done without guessing.

01

Your written plan, as completed

Each tooth treated, what was placed and the date, so later X-rays can be compared.

02

X-rays and scan files

Before-and-after X-rays, the CBCT scan for implants and the digital scan files where available; see digital dental impressions.

03

Materials and shade

For veneers and crowns: the ceramic used on each tooth and the shade, so a repair or a future crown can match.

04

Implant system details

The implant system, size and components, so your dentist can source compatible parts or tighten a screw.

05

Aftercare instructions

The written instructions you were given, including any night guard advice.

Your US dentist, the Dubai clinic, or urgent care: who should you contact?

Timeline

What should the first weeks and months look like after you fly home to the US?

A typical pattern. Your written instructions take priority.

  1. First days

Mild sensitivity after veneers is common. After implant surgery, soft food, no smoking and the prescribed care. See veneer recovery and implant aftercare.

    Week 1
  2. Settling in

Speech and bite feel normal again. Message the clinic if a veneer still catches or a tooth still aches on biting.

    Weeks 2–4
  3. First local check-up

Book a check-up with your US dentist and bring your records, so they have a starting point for future X-rays.

    Within a few months
  4. Between implant trips

Keep the area clean as instructed and send a photo if anything changes before your crown trip.

    Healing months
  5. For the long term

Regular check-ups and cleaning at home, plus a night guard if you grind.

    Every year
For your hygienist

How should a US dental hygienist clean around veneers and implants?

Veneers and implant crowns are cleaned much like natural teeth, with a few cautions worth passing on to your hygienist. Ceramic surfaces keep their glaze best with gentle, non-abrasive polishing; coarse pastes can dull them over time. Around implants, the aim is to remove biofilm without scratching the implant parts, and to watch the gum and bone level on X-rays at intervals.

At home, clean between teeth every day with floss, interdental brushes or a water flosser; the guide to cleaning implants and bridges shows how. Avoid biting very hard things with veneers, and wear a night guard if you grind; see veneers and teeth grinding.

If you visit Dubai again, a GBT cleaning (AED 1,200 per session) can be booked as a single visit.

Protecting the result

Which habits damage veneers and implants once you are home?

Most problems after veneers come from forces, not from the ceramic itself: grinding at night, biting nails, opening packets, or chewing ice. Around implants, the main risks are biofilm and smoking, which inflame the gum and can lead to bone loss over time.

  • Night guard: if you grind, wear it every night.
  • Coffee and tea: porcelain resists staining, but the bonding edges and natural teeth do not; see do veneers stain.
  • Smoking and vaping: both slow healing and affect gums around implants.

If something goes wrong after you fly back to the US

Facial swelling with fever or spreading to the eye or neck, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or bleeding that will not stop: go to a hospital emergency department straight away. Severe toothache or a broken tooth: see a local dentist, then message the clinic. For anything else, send a photo and a short description on WhatsApp; replies come during clinic hours, daily 10:00–20:00 Dubai time.

Who treats you

Who answers aftercare questions from patients in the US?

Questions go to the dentist who treated you: Dr. Duaa Emran for veneers and smile design, Dr. Firas Osman for implant surgery, and Dr. Kinan Bonni and Dr. Khalid Saeed for veneers and implants. See the veneers and dental implants pages (prices on the veneers cost and implant cost pages), or go back to the guide for patients from the USA.

Patient questions

Frequently asked questions

Will a dentist in the US look after veneers that were made in Dubai?

Yes. Ceramic veneers are checked and cleaned like any other veneers, and US dentists see work from many countries. It helps to bring your records: which material was used on each tooth, the shade, and before-and-after X-rays. With those, your dentist knows what is in your mouth and can plan any future repair.

What records should I ask for before flying back to the US after dental work?

Ask for your completed treatment plan, X-rays, the CBCT scan for implants, digital scan files where available, the material and shade of each veneer or crown, the implant system and component details, and your written aftercare instructions. Keep digital copies you can email to your local dentist.

Who do I contact if my implant feels sore after I return to the US?

Some tenderness in the first days is expected. If soreness increases, the gum swells, there is a bad taste or the implant or crown feels loose, send the clinic a photo and see your local dentist. Swelling with fever, or difficulty breathing or swallowing, needs a hospital emergency department straight away.

Can I send photos to the Dubai clinic from the US after treatment?

Yes. Send photos and a short description to WhatsApp +971 56 677 7537. Messages are answered during clinic hours, daily 10:00–20:00 Dubai time, which is overnight or early morning across much of the US. For anything urgent, use local care first rather than waiting for a reply.

How often should I see my US dentist after a Hollywood smile from Dubai?

Follow your local dentist's routine for check-ups and cleaning, usually every six months or as they advise. Tell them you have veneers so polishing is gentle on the ceramic, and mention whether you grind, so a night guard can be checked or made if needed.

What if a veneer needs replacing after I am back in the US?

A veneer that has broken or come off and cannot be re-bonded has to be remade from a new scan and fitted. Ask the clinic before you leave how that would be handled from abroad, and whether it would be done on a return trip or by a local dentist using your shade and material details.
