Complexity of movement
Closing a small gap is a different task from correcting crowding with rotations or a deep bite, which need more stages, closer monitoring and often elastics.
Two Invisalign quotes can describe very different treatments. Here is what a complete aligner quote covers, what moves the fee, and how to compare offers fairly.
The fee is given in writing after diagnosis, with what it covers and the alternatives.
Invisalign has no single price. The fee depends on how complex the tooth movement is, how many aligners and refinements the plan needs, whether attachments, reshaping between teeth or other auxiliaries are used, and which retainers follow. At Creative Arts, a specialist orthodontist first confirms that aligners suit your case, then gives a written, itemised fee covering the whole treatment.
Published aligner prices in Dubai vary widely, mostly because quotes include different things. A complete quote covers the whole course of treatment, not only the trays.
The aligner material is similar from case to case. The work around it is not.
Closing a small gap is a different task from correcting crowding with rotations or a deep bite, which need more stages, closer monitoring and often elastics.
Comprehensive treatment often runs one to two years. More stages mean more aligners and more reviews.
Teeth do not always track exactly as planned. Many cases need a further series of aligners at the end, which is a major difference between quotes.
Some movements are more predictable with fixed braces. A case pushed into aligners that do not suit it can end up longer and more expensive.
Low "from" prices usually describe a limited course with a capped number of aligners. That can be the right plan, but only for a case that fits it.
| Limited aligner course | Comprehensive aligner treatment | |
|---|---|---|
| Typically suits | Mild crowding or spacing of the front teeth, or minor relapse | Crowding, rotations and bite correction across the whole arch |
| Number of aligners | Capped at a small number | As many as the plan requires |
| Bite correction | Usually not addressed | Planned where needed |
| Refinements | Often limited; check the terms | Often part of the plan; check the terms |
| Risk if the case is underestimated | Treatment stops before the result, then needs an upgrade | Lower, because the plan covers the full movement |
Whether your case fits a limited course is a diagnostic question. If you had orthodontics before and teeth have shifted, see retainers and relapse.
With fixed braces, most of the fee reflects chair time for adjustments over the treatment. With aligners, much of the cost sits up front in digital planning and manufacturing a series of custom trays, plus any refinements later.
That does not make aligners better or worse. For mild alignment the difference can be smaller than expected; for complex rotations or vertical bite problems, braces may be more predictable and less costly. Braces fees are explained on our braces and orthodontic cost page, and the clinical differences in our Invisalign vs braces guide.
Aligners ordered online from photos or a self-taken impression skip the in-person examination and specialist supervision. Gum disease, decay, root problems or a bite issue can go unnoticed, and no one checks whether teeth are tracking. A lower starting cost can lead to more treatment later if problems are missed.
Put the same questions to each clinic, ideally in writing.
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Who diagnoses, plans and reviews my treatment? | Planning and monitoring by a specialist orthodontist is part of what you pay for |
| How many aligners, and are refinements included? | Many quotes differ most on this point |
| Are scans, radiographs and reviews included? | Records are sometimes charged separately |
| Are attachments, IPR and elastics included? | These are common in aligner cases |
| Which retainers come at the end, and are they included? | Retention is long-term; a quote without it is incomplete |
| What happens if an aligner is lost or teeth do not track? | Replacement aligners and re-scans can add to the fee |
Insurance cover for orthodontics varies by policy. Ask your insurer directly; an itemised written plan makes that conversation easier.
A price quoted before examination can only be an estimate, so the fee follows the diagnosis.
A specialist orthodontist examines your teeth, gums, bite and jaw function and takes a 3D scan, photographs and radiographs where indicated.
First visitYou hear whether aligners suit your case, whether braces would be more predictable, or whether either would work.
PlanningThe plan lists duration, aligners and refinements, auxiliaries, retainers and the fee, with alternatives, before you commit.
Before startingAligner cases are diagnosed, planned and reviewed by our two specialist orthodontists in Dubai. Read how treatment works on our Invisalign clear aligners page.
Starting prices usually describe the simplest case: a limited number of aligners for mild movement of the front teeth. If your case involves rotations, crowding across the arch or bite correction, it needs more aligners, closer supervision and often refinements. Compare what each quote covers, not only the headline figure.
It depends on the clinic and the plan, which is why you should ask. In our written plans, any refinements expected for your case are stated before you start. Refinements are common because teeth do not always follow the digital plan exactly, especially rotated or short teeth.
Contact the clinic during opening hours. Depending on where you are in treatment, the orthodontist may ask you to move to the next aligner early, go back to the previous one, or have a replacement made. Replacements and any re-scan can add to the cost, so ask how each quote handles this.
It can. Aligners usually need to be worn around 20–22 hours a day. Wearing them less means teeth fall behind the plan, aligners stop fitting, and extra refinements or a longer treatment may be needed. Consistent wear is one of the few cost factors in your control.
Often cheaper at the outset, but they are planned without an in-person examination or specialist supervision, so gum problems, decay, bite issues or poor tracking may be missed. If you are considering them, an orthodontic examination first will at least confirm whether your teeth are healthy enough to move.
Cover varies widely between policies, and many limit or exclude orthodontic treatment for adults. Check with your insurer directly. An itemised written plan showing the diagnosis, the treatment and its components makes it easier to ask what, if anything, your policy will contribute.
