Kids Dentist Cost in Dubai: What Your Child's Visit Is Priced On
Most children's visits are check-ups and prevention, and those cost little compared with treating decay later. This page explains what changes the cost, item by item.
- Prevention chosen by your child's risk
- X-rays only for a clinical reason
- Written plan before any treatment
If treatment is needed, you receive a written plan with each item and its cost before anything starts.
How much does a kids dentist cost in Dubai?
Kids dentist cost in Dubai depends on what the visit involves. A check-up is the smallest item; X-rays, fluoride varnish and fissure sealants are added only when your child's risk calls for them, and sealants are counted tooth by tooth. Fillings, nerve treatment, extractions and laughing gas are priced as separate items. At Creative Arts, any treatment is set out in a written, itemised plan before it starts.

What changes the kids dentist cost in Dubai?
Two children's visits can cost very different amounts because they contain different items. Relative terms only, because what your child needs depends on the examination.
| Item | When it is needed | Effect on the cost |
|---|---|---|
| First familiarisation visit | Toddlers and anxious children meeting the dentist and the chair | Lower |
| Check-up | Routinely, at an interval set by your child's risk | Lower |
| X-rays | Only for a clinical reason, such as checking between back teeth or a painful tooth | Adds an item when needed |
| Fluoride varnish | Children at higher risk of decay | Small item |
| Fissure sealants | Deep grooves on permanent molars, usually soon after they come through | Counted per tooth |
| Filling on a baby or adult tooth | A cavity found at the check-up | Per tooth; rises with size |
| Pulpotomy (nerve treatment on a baby tooth) | Decay that has reached the nerve | Higher for that tooth |
| Extraction of a baby tooth | A tooth that cannot or should not be kept | Per tooth |
| Laughing gas | An anxious child who needs treatment | Adds an item when used |
Published prices for children's dentistry in Dubai vary widely, partly because some quote a check-up alone and others a bundle with cleaning and X-rays. Our guide to dental costs in Dubai explains how quotes are built across treatments.
What does a child's dental check-up include?
A child's check-up at Creative Arts covers the teeth and gums, the way the teeth are coming in, the bite, and habits such as thumb sucking or night-time bottles. For young children much of the visit is about building trust: counting teeth, meeting the mirror and the suction, and advice for parents on brushing and diet. Many first visits involve no treatment at all.
X-rays are not part of every check-up. They are taken when there is a reason, for example to look for decay between back teeth that touch, to check a painful or injured tooth, or to see an adult tooth that is late. A gentle clean or polish may be added where plaque or stains have built up; our page on kids teeth cleaning explains when that is useful. For a broader look at what any check-up includes, see check-up cost.
Are sealants and fluoride priced per tooth?
Prevention is chosen by your child's risk of decay rather than added to every visit, so it appears on the plan only when it is recommended.
- Fissure sealantsApplied tooth by tooth to the chewing surfaces of molars, so the number of teeth sealed sets the cost. No drilling or injection is needed. See fissure sealants.
- Fluoride varnishPainted over all the teeth in one short step, so it is listed per application rather than per tooth. See fluoride treatment.
- How oftenChildren with active decay or a high-sugar diet may benefit from more frequent varnish; low-risk children may need little or none.
- Checking sealantsSealants are looked at during check-ups and topped up if part has worn away.
What changes the cost of a child's filling?
The size and depth of the cavity matter most. A small cavity on one surface is a quicker, smaller filling than one that spans two surfaces between the teeth. If decay has reached the nerve of a baby tooth, a pulpotomy may be needed before the tooth is restored, and a molar that is badly broken down may be discussed for a crown instead of a filling, which costs more for that tooth.
Whether the tooth is a baby tooth close to falling out also changes the plan. Very early decay on a tooth that will be lost within months may be better watched and treated with fluoride than filled. Finally, a child who needs several fillings may have them spread over shorter visits, which keeps each appointment manageable. Our filling cost page covers adult fillings in more detail.
What does laughing gas or sedation add to a child's treatment?
Most children manage check-ups and small fillings with preparation and local anaesthetic alone. For an anxious child, laughing gas (nitrous oxide with oxygen) may be offered after a medical-history review, and it appears as its own item on the plan. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry describes it as a safe and effective way to ease anxiety in children when used judiciously; it relaxes the child but does not numb the tooth.
Children who need a lot of treatment, or who cannot cope in the chair even with support, may need a different pathway. Whether treatment under general anaesthesia is suitable, and where it would take place, is decided at an assessment; our guide to children's dental treatment under general anaesthesia explains what it involves.
The cheapest item on the plan does the most
Check-ups, fluoride and sealants cost a fraction of treating decay. A 2013 Cochrane review linked fluoride varnish with about 37% fewer decayed surfaces in baby teeth, and a 2017 Cochrane review found that resin sealants on permanent molars reduced decay in children aged 5 to 16. These are research averages, not a promise for any one child, but they explain why prevention comes first in a child's plan.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a kids dentist check-up in Dubai?
A child's check-up is usually the smallest item in children's dentistry. The total for a visit depends on what is added: X-rays only for a clinical reason, fluoride varnish or sealants if your child's risk calls for them, and any treatment. At Creative Arts these are listed separately, so you can see what each part costs.
What does a child's dental check-up include?
The teeth and gums, how the teeth are coming in, the bite, and habits such as thumb sucking or night bottles, with advice on brushing and diet. For young children the first visits also build trust and may involve no treatment at all. X-rays and cleaning are added only when they are useful.
Are fissure sealants priced per tooth?
Usually, yes. Sealants are applied tooth by tooth to the grooves of the molars, so the number of teeth sealed sets the cost. They are recommended mainly for permanent molars soon after they come through, according to your child's risk, and are checked at later visits.
What changes the cost of a child's filling?
The size and depth of the cavity, how many surfaces it covers, and whether the decay has reached the nerve. A baby tooth close to falling out may be watched rather than filled, while a badly broken baby molar may need nerve treatment or a crown, which costs more for that tooth. Your written plan lists each tooth.
Does laughing gas add to the cost of my child's treatment?
Yes. If laughing gas is used for an anxious child, it is listed as its own item. It is offered after a review of your child's medical history and is not needed for most check-ups or small fillings. It relaxes the child but does not numb the tooth, so local anaesthetic is still used for treatment.
Is children's dental treatment covered by insurance in Dubai?
It depends entirely on the policy. Check with your insurer what children's dental cover includes, such as check-ups, fillings or orthodontic assessment, and whether pre-approval is needed. The itemised written plan you receive makes it easier to check each item with your insurer before treatment.
Why do kids dentist prices in Dubai vary so much?
Because quotes often describe different things. One may cover a check-up alone; another may bundle cleaning, X-rays and fluoride whether or not your child needs them. Ask what is included, which items depend on risk, and whether X-rays are taken routinely or only for a reason, then compare like with like.
