What is Mock-up (trial smile)?

The mock-up starts from a diagnostic wax-up or digital design of the proposed tooth shapes. That design is transferred into your mouth in tooth-coloured temporary material, then checked for length, width, lip support, speech and how it looks when you smile and talk. At Creative Arts in Dubai, patients see a design and a mock-up before any veneer preparation; the wax-up is designed in Creative Art Dental Lab, in the same building, and the mock-up is made by your dentist.

Look at the mock-up in daylight, in photos and on video, and say what you would change: length, shape or brightness. Ask whether your changes will be recorded and sent back to the lab, and whether the final veneers will be made to the approved mock-up. Ask what the trial smile costs in your written plan.
