What is included in a trial smile: photos, scan, wax-up?
"Trial smile" is used for several different things in Dubai. These are the parts that may or may not be included in a quote, and why each matters.

Is the trial smile charged separately from veneers?
Clinics handle this differently. Some charge the design and mock-up as a planning fee; some list it inside the veneer or smile makeover plan; some present a quick on-screen preview as free and charge for the physical mock-up. None of these is wrong, but you should know which one you are being offered before you book.

What changes the trial smile cost?
The fee follows the amount of design and laboratory work, not the name of the service.
- How many teeth are designedFour front teeth and a full upper smile line of ten teeth are different amounts of design and wax-up work.
- Digital only or physical mock-upA design on screen is quicker. A mock-up needs a wax-up or printed model and a chair-side visit to place and remove it.
- Hand wax-up or printed modelSome cases are refined by hand on the model by the ceramist, which takes longer than printing a digital design.
- RevisionsIf you want the length or shape changed after the mock-up, a second design and mock-up add work.
- Upper and lower teethDesigning both arches, or including gum contouring in the plan, widens the design.

Can I take the design to another clinic?
You can ask for copies of your records, such as photographs and scans, and it is reasonable to ask in advance what you will receive. Bear in mind that a mock-up shows a proposal, not a finished prescription: a clinic that makes your veneers will normally confirm the design with its own examination and records. No. The mock-up is made of temporary tooth-coloured material placed over your natural teeth and removed afterwards. Nothing is prepared at this stage. If you go ahead with veneers, any preparation follows the agreed design, and in some cases little or none is needed.
