Dental Bone Graft Cost in Dubai
A bone graft can be a small step at an extraction or a separate surgery months before an implant. What you are quoted depends on which one your scan calls for.
- CBCT 3D planning
- Grafting by our oral surgeon on site
- Itemised written plan
Your CBCT scan shows whether a graft is needed at all before anything is priced.
How much does a dental bone graft cost in Dubai?
The cost of a dental bone graft in Dubai depends on the type of graft, from a socket graft at extraction to ridge augmentation or a block graft, the amount and source of graft material, the membrane, whether it is done with the implant or as a separate surgery, and any sedation. At Creative Arts the graft is priced after a CBCT scan, as its own line in a written, itemised plan.

Do you need a bone graft before an implant at all?
Not always, and that is the first thing your quote should establish. An implant needs bone all around it. Where a tooth has been missing for some time, or was lost to infection or gum disease, the ridge can be too thin or too low in the planned position. A CBCT scan measures this in three dimensions, so the need for grafting is a measurement rather than a guess.
Sometimes a graft can be avoided: a slightly different implant position, a shorter or narrower implant, or a bridge instead of an implant may be reasonable. A careful plan sets these alternatives beside the graft, so you can compare cost, surgery and healing time. When grafting is the right answer, the size and type of graft are what drive its cost.
Which type of bone graft costs more, and why?
From the smallest procedure to the largest. Your plan names which applies to you.
| Graft | When it is used | Effect on cost and time |
|---|---|---|
| Socket preservation | At extraction, to limit shrinkage while you wait for an implant | Smallest; adds an item to the extraction; implant typically about 3–4 months later |
| Graft with the implant | A small area of exposed implant surface is covered with graft and a membrane | Adds material and time to the implant surgery, but no extra operation |
| Staged ridge augmentation | The ridge is too thin to hold an implant; granules under a membrane rebuild it first | A separate surgery; typically about 4–9 months before the implant |
| Block graft | Larger width or height defects that granules may not hold | More surgical time and fixation; own bone may need a second site |
| Sinus lift | Too little bone height under the sinus for an upper back implant | Priced separately; see the sinus lift cost page |
The techniques are explained on our ridge augmentation page; for an upper back tooth, see sinus lift cost.
What changes the cost of a bone graft?
Beyond the type of graft, these are the items that move the figure. Each one appears on a Creative Arts plan when it applies.
- Size and directionAdding width at one tooth is smaller than adding height across several. Vertical gains are the most demanding.
- Graft materialYour own bone, donor bone, processed animal bone or synthetic material, often mixed. Our bone graft types guide compares them.
- Membrane and fixationA resorbable collagen membrane, or a reinforced membrane or fixation screws for larger grafts, which may need removing later.
- One stage or twoA graft placed with the implant avoids a second operation; a staged graft adds a surgery and months of healing.
- Sedation or anaesthesiaChosen after a medical-history review and shown as its own line. See sedation cost.
Is the bone graft included in the implant price?
Often not, which is why implant quotes can look so different. Ask every clinic, including us, these questions.
| Ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Was the quote written from a CBCT scan? | Without one, nobody knows yet whether a graft is needed |
| Which graft, and which material? | A socket graft and a block graft are very different procedures |
| Is it with the implant or a separate surgery? | A staged graft adds an operation and months to the timeline |
| Is the membrane included? | Membranes are a separate material cost in many quotes |
| Is the re-scan before the implant included? | Healing is confirmed on imaging before the implant goes in |
For the implant side of the plan, see dental implant cost, or All-on-4 cost for a full arch.
How a bone graft is planned, priced and carried out
The waiting time in the middle is what changes most between grafts.
Examination and CBCT
Bone width and height are measured where the implant is planned, and alternatives that avoid grafting are considered.

Grafting surgery on site, planned by our oral surgeon
Creative Arts has operating rooms equipped for dental and oral surgery. Oral & maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Firas Osman assesses and plans surgical cases, with 3D (CBCT) imaging and, where the case calls for it, surgical guides 3D-printed in our own laboratory.
- Local anaesthesiafor most procedures
- Laughing gasnitrous oxide inhalation sedation
- Oral sedationa tablet taken before treatment
- IV sedationconscious sedation through a vein
- General anaesthesiagiven and monitored by an anaesthesiologist
- The option is chosen for you and for the procedure after a medical-history review.
- Sedation and anaesthesia are given and monitored by an appropriately qualified, licensed clinician; fasting rules and an adult escort apply where relevant.
- Major corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia in a hospital; Dr. Firas Osman plans it and explains where it takes place.

Waiting can make grafting bigger
Bone at an empty site slowly shrinks, most of it in the first few months after an extraction. Grafting the socket while it is open is far simpler than rebuilding a collapsed ridge later. If an extraction is planned and an implant may follow, ask about socket preservation before the tooth comes out.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a dental bone graft cost in Dubai?
There is no single figure, because grafts range from a small socket graft at extraction to a block graft in a separate operation. The cost depends on the type and size of the graft, the material and membrane, whether it is staged and any sedation. After a CBCT scan, Creative Arts lists the graft as its own line in a written plan.
Is a bone graft included in the dental implant price?
Often not. Many implant quotes cover the implant and crown only, because not every patient needs a graft. Ask whether the quote was written from a CBCT scan, which graft is planned and whether the membrane and follow-up scan are included. At Creative Arts the graft appears as a separate, explained item.
Why is a block graft more expensive than a socket graft?
A socket graft fills an open socket at extraction in a few minutes. A block graft rebuilds a larger defect, needs more surgical time, small fixation screws and sometimes bone taken from a second site in your mouth, and usually adds months of healing before the implant. The difference reflects the size of the operation.
Is a dental bone graft painful?
Grafting is done under local anaesthetic, so the surgery itself should not be painful. Afterwards, swelling and soreness usually peak around the second or third day and are managed with over-the-counter pain relief and any medicine your surgeon prescribes. Larger grafts and grafts taken from a second site cause more discomfort than socket grafts.
Does the type of graft material change the cost?
It can. Your own bone needs harvesting, which adds surgical time; donor, processed animal and synthetic materials are bought in, and products differ. Surgeons often mix materials for the job. Your plan names the material proposed and why, and you can ask about alternatives if origin matters to you.
Can a bone graft be avoided to save cost?
Sometimes. A different implant position, a shorter or narrower implant, or a bridge instead of an implant may be reasonable depending on your scan. These alternatives have their own trade-offs in strength, appearance and lifespan. A good plan sets them side by side with the graft so you can decide.
