Upper back implants, priced honestly

Sinus Lift Cost in Dubai

A sinus lift adds bone under the sinus so an upper back implant has something to hold. Its cost depends mostly on which approach your CBCT scan calls for.

  • Crestal and lateral approaches
  • CBCT 3D planning

Quick answer

How much does a sinus lift cost in Dubai?

The cost of a sinus lift in Dubai depends mainly on the approach: a crestal lift through the implant site is a smaller procedure than a lateral window lift. Graft volume, whether the implant goes in at the same surgery, one side or both, and any sedation also change it. At Creative Arts the lift is priced after a CBCT scan, as its own line in a written plan.

Why it is priced separately

Why is a sinus lift a separate line in an implant quote?

Above the upper premolars and molars sits the maxillary sinus. After a back tooth is lost, the bone beneath it often thins, and the sinus can expand downwards into the space. If the CBCT scan shows too little bone height for the planned implant, the sinus lining is lifted and graft placed beneath it. Not every upper back implant needs this, so it is quoted only when the scan shows it is needed, and as its own item rather than hidden in the implant price.

The sinus lift page explains how the surgery is done and what recovery involves. This page is about what changes its cost.

Two approaches

Why is a lateral sinus lift priced higher than a crestal one?

The approach is chosen from the bone height on your scan. These are general patterns.

Crestal (internal) liftLateral window lift
How the sinus floor is reachedThrough the opening prepared for the implantThrough a small window in the side wall of the sinus, under a gum flap
Typical bone gainModest, where a reasonable amount of bone remainsLarger, where the bone under the sinus is thin
Graft materialA small amount, sometimes noneMore graft, usually covered with a membrane
Implant timingUsually in the same surgerySame surgery if the remaining bone holds the implant steady; otherwise months later
Surgical timeSimilar to a routine implant, a little longerLonger; sedation is often discussed
Effect on costLowerHigher

A 2014 Cochrane review found no sinus lift technique clearly superior to others, and noted that short implants can be an alternative with fewer complications in some cases. Your surgeon will explain why one approach is proposed for you.

Cost drivers

What else changes the cost of a sinus lift?

Beyond the approach, these items move the figure. Each appears on a Creative Arts plan when it applies.

  • Graft volume and membraneThe more height needed, the more graft material; a lateral lift usually also needs a membrane over the window.
  • Same surgery or stagedPlacing the implant with the lift saves an operation. If the remaining bone cannot hold it steady, the implant follows months later as a second surgery.
  • One side or bothSome full-arch and multiple-implant plans need both sinuses lifted. See All-on-4 cost for full arches.
  • Other graftingIf the ridge is also too narrow, width may need adding too. Our bone graft cost page explains that line.
  • Sedation or anaesthesiaChosen after a medical-history review and shown separately. See sedation cost.
Compare fairly

How do you compare two sinus lift quotes?

Ask every clinic, including us, for these answers in writing.

AskWhy it matters
Crestal or lateral, and why? They are different operations with different costs and recovery
Was the quote made from a CBCT scan?Bone height under the sinus cannot be judged from a standard X-ray alone
Is the implant placed at the same time?A staged plan adds a surgery and months
Are graft, membrane and follow-up scan included? These are often listed separately or left out of headline prices
What happens if the lining tears?Small tears are usually repaired during surgery; ask how this is handled
Visits and time

How does a sinus lift change the implant timeline and number of visits?

Time and visits are part of the cost too, especially if you travel for treatment. Typical sequences:

PlanSurgeriesWhat to expect
Crestal lift with the implantOneHealing, then the crown made in Creative Art Dental Lab; often close to a routine implant timeline
Lateral lift with the implantOneLonger healing before the crown, because the new bone must mature around the implant
Lateral lift, implant laterTwoThe graft heals first, a scan confirms the bone, then the implant goes in and heals before the crown
Both sides liftedOne or two per sideSides may be done together or in turn, depending on the plan and your comfort

Overall, healing is typically about four to nine months before the implant is placed or loaded, depending on the approach and the amount of graft. Flying is avoided until your surgeon clears you; see flying after dental surgery.

Is there an alternative to a sinus lift?

Sometimes. Depending on your scan, a shorter implant, an implant angled to use bone in front of the sinus, or a bridge to a neighbouring tooth may avoid a lift. In full-arch plans, implants can sometimes be angled for the same reason. Each option has its own trade-offs, and your written plan should set them beside the lift.

Patient questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does a sinus lift cost in Dubai?

There is no single figure, because a crestal lift done through the implant site and a lateral window lift are different operations. Graft volume, the membrane, whether the implant goes in at the same time, one side or both and any sedation also change the cost. After a CBCT scan, Creative Arts lists the lift as its own line in a written plan.

Can a sinus lift and implant be done together to save cost?

Often, yes. A crestal lift is usually done with the implant in the same surgery, and a lateral lift can be too when the remaining bone holds the implant steady. When it cannot, the implant is placed months later in a second surgery. Doing both together saves an operation, but only when it is safe for your bone.

Is a sinus lift included in the dental implant price?

Usually not, because most implants do not need one. A sinus lift should appear as its own item once a CBCT scan shows too little bone height under the sinus. Ask whether the quote you have was written from a 3D scan; if not, a sinus lift may still be needed later.

Is sinus lift surgery painful?

It is carried out under local anaesthetic, so the surgery itself should not be painful, and sedation can be discussed. A crestal lift usually feels similar to a routine implant afterwards. A lateral lift typically causes more swelling and sometimes bruising for one to two weeks, managed with pain relief and the sinus precautions your surgeon gives you.

Do I need a sinus lift on both sides?

Only if implants are planned under both sinuses and both lack bone height. Some full-arch and multiple-implant plans need both sides; many single-implant cases need neither. The CBCT scan answers this for each side separately, and each lift appears as its own line in your plan.

What is the cheapest alternative to a sinus lift?

It depends on your scan. A shorter implant, an implant angled to avoid the sinus or a bridge may cost less and avoid grafting in some cases. Each has trade-offs in strength, lifespan or the effect on neighbouring teeth. Your surgeon will compare the options with you in writing.
