Tooth Extraction Cost in Dubai: What You Are Paying For
Two extractions can be very different operations. This page explains what moves the cost, what a fair quote includes, and when keeping the tooth is the better value.
- Written, itemised plan
- Oral surgeon for complex extractions
- Local anaesthesia to sedation
The tooth is examined and X-rayed first, so the quote describes the extraction you actually need.
How much does a tooth extraction cost in Dubai?
The cost of a tooth extraction in Dubai depends mainly on whether it is a simple or surgical extraction, the shape and position of the roots, the imaging needed, the anaesthesia or sedation you choose, and whether a graft is placed to prepare for an implant. At Creative Arts the tooth is examined and X-rayed first, and you receive a written, itemised quote before anything is done.

Why tooth extraction prices in Dubai vary so much
"Extraction" covers everything from lifting out a loose tooth in a few minutes to removing a broken molar in pieces, with a small gum flap and stitches. Published prices in Dubai vary widely partly for that reason: a low advertised figure usually describes the simplest case, while your tooth may need more.
The other reason is what is included. One quote may cover only the extraction itself; another may include the X-ray, the anaesthetic, stitches, medicines and a review visit. Before comparing, ask any clinic, including us, whether the quote is for a simple or surgical extraction, which imaging is included, and what happens to the gap afterwards. The treatment itself is described on our tooth extraction page, and the types are compared in types of tooth extraction.
What changes the cost of a tooth extraction?
Each line below is decided at examination, and each appears on your written plan if it applies to you.
| What changes | Why it changes the cost | Typical effect |
|---|---|---|
| Simple extraction | A fully visible tooth lifted out with instruments under local anaesthetic | Lower |
| Surgical extraction | A small gum flap, removing some bone or dividing the tooth, then stitches | Higher |
| Broken-down tooth or retained root | Less tooth to grip, so it is often removed surgically | Higher |
| Molar with curved or long roots | More roots and a more careful technique to protect the bone | Moderate to higher |
| Imaging | A standard X-ray for most teeth; a 3D CBCT scan when roots are close to a nerve or the sinus | CBCT adds an item |
| Anaesthesia or sedation | Local anaesthetic is standard; laughing gas, tablet or IV sedation, or general anaesthesia, add their own fee | Adds an item if chosen |
| Several teeth in one visit | One appointment and one sedation instead of several | Lower per tooth than separate visits |
| Socket preservation graft | Bone graft material placed in the socket when an implant is planned later | Adds an item |
| Medicines and review | Prescribed medicines where needed and a check of healing | Small items, or included |
No figures are given here because the cost depends on the tooth, which is assessed in person. Wisdom teeth have their own guide: wisdom tooth removal cost.
What should a tooth extraction quote include?
Check each of these on any quote you compare. On a Creative Arts plan, each one is either included or listed as its own line.
- Examination and X-rayThe tooth is examined and X-rayed before the extraction is priced, so you know whether it is simple or surgical.
- 3D CBCT, if neededUsed when the roots lie near the nerve in the lower jaw or the sinus in the upper jaw, so the risk can be planned for.
- Anaesthesia and sedationLocal anaesthetic is part of the extraction. Sedation or general anaesthesia, if you choose it, is listed separately with the reason.
- Socket preservationListed only if an implant is planned and the socket would benefit from a graft to keep its shape.
- AftercareStitches, written aftercare, any prescribed medicines and the review appointment should all be clear on the quote.
- VATVAT is shown on your written quote, so you know the full amount before you agree.
Is extraction the cheaper option?
Removing a tooth often costs less on the day than saving it. Whether it costs less overall depends on what the gap needs afterwards. The decision is compared in detail in root canal or extraction.
Extraction is often the sensible choice when
- The tooth is split below the gum or cannot be restored
- Bone support around it has been largely lost
- It is a wisdom tooth causing repeated problems
- It is a baby tooth blocking an adult tooth, or needed for braces
Ask about saving the tooth first when
- The tooth can be restored with root canal treatment and a crown
- A back tooth is important for chewing and the replacement would be an implant or bridge
- Infection can be treated and the tooth is otherwise sound
- You want to avoid a gap in the front of your mouth
How you get a written extraction quote
Pain sometimes makes an extraction feel urgent. A short examination first still matters, because it decides which extraction you need.
Examination and X-ray
The dentist checks the tooth, gum and bone and takes the X-ray needed; a 3D scan is added only where roots are close to a nerve or the sinus.

How to compare two tooth extraction quotes
Put these questions to every clinic. The answers explain most of the difference between two prices.
| Ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Is this a simple or a surgical extraction? | A low price for a simple extraction will not apply if your tooth needs surgery |
| Is the X-ray included, and will I need a 3D scan? | Imaging can be priced separately |
| Who will do the extraction? | Difficult extractions are best done by someone experienced in oral surgery |
| Which anaesthesia is included? | Sedation, if you want it, is usually an additional item |
| Is a review visit included? | Problems such as dry socket are easier to manage with a planned check |
| What do you recommend for the gap, and when? | Socket preservation or an early plan can save treatment later |
An extraction planned with an implant in mind should mention socket preservation; see socket preservation and implant timing after extraction.
The cost of the gap
A missing back tooth can let neighbouring teeth drift and the opposite tooth over-erupt, and the bone in the socket slowly shrinks. If the tooth will be replaced, ask before the extraction whether the socket should be preserved and when an implant or bridge would be placed. Planning the replacement first can make it simpler later.

Operating rooms and every level of anaesthesia, in the clinic
Creative Arts has operating rooms equipped for dental and oral surgery. Oral & maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Firas Osman assesses and plans surgical cases, with 3D (CBCT) imaging and, where the case calls for it, surgical guides 3D-printed in our own laboratory.
- Local anaesthesiafor most procedures
- Laughing gasnitrous oxide inhalation sedation
- Oral sedationa tablet taken before treatment
- IV sedationconscious sedation through a vein
- General anaesthesiagiven and monitored by an anaesthesiologist
- The option is chosen for you and for the procedure after a medical-history review.
- Sedation and anaesthesia are given and monitored by an appropriately qualified, licensed clinician; fasting rules and an adult escort apply where relevant.
- Major corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia in a hospital; Dr. Firas Osman plans it and explains where it takes place.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a tooth extraction cost in Dubai?
There is no single figure, because a simple extraction of a visible tooth and a surgical extraction of a broken molar are very different procedures. The cost depends on the tooth, its roots, the imaging needed, any sedation and whether a graft is placed. After an examination and X-ray you receive a written, itemised quote.
Why does a surgical tooth extraction cost more than a simple one?
A surgical extraction involves more steps and time: a small gum flap, sometimes removing a little bone or dividing the tooth into pieces, then stitches. It is used for broken-down teeth, retained roots and teeth with difficult roots. A simple extraction lifts a fully visible tooth out under local anaesthetic.
Is the X-ray included in the tooth extraction price?
At Creative Arts the X-ray needed to plan the extraction is shown on your written plan, so you can see whether it is included or listed separately. A 3D CBCT scan is added only when roots lie close to a nerve or the sinus. When comparing quotes elsewhere, ask the same question, because imaging is often priced separately.
Does sedation add to the cost of a tooth extraction?
Local anaesthetic is part of the extraction itself. If you choose laughing gas, a sedation tablet, IV sedation or, for selected cases, general anaesthesia, that is listed as its own item on your plan, because it involves additional medicines, monitoring and time. Many extractions need nothing beyond local anaesthetic.
Does a bone graft after a tooth extraction cost extra?
Yes, socket preservation is a separate item. It is recommended mainly when an implant is planned and the socket would otherwise shrink, especially in the front of the mouth. If you are not planning an implant, it is usually not needed. Your written plan explains whether it is advised for your tooth and why.
Is a follow-up visit included in the extraction cost?
Your written plan shows whether a review of healing is part of the treatment. A review is particularly useful after surgical extractions, to check healing and remove stitches if non-dissolving ones were used. If you have pain that worsens after the second or third day, contact the clinic rather than waiting for the review.
Is it cheaper to extract a tooth than to have a root canal?
On the day, extraction usually costs less. But a missing back tooth often needs replacing with an implant or bridge, which can cost more over time than a root canal and crown. If the tooth can be restored, saving it is often the better value. Your plan sets out both paths in writing.
