What is Lingual braces?
Definition
Lingual braces are fixed orthodontic braces bonded to the inside surfaces of the teeth, the side facing the tongue, so they are hidden when you smile and talk.
They move teeth like conventional fixed braces but cannot be seen from the front, which suits adults and teenagers who want fixed treatment without visible brackets. Comprehensive treatment usually takes 12–24 months, and speech and tongue usually adapt within the first few weeks. At Creative Arts in Dubai, lingual braces are provided by the specialist orthodontists Dr. Muhannad Kazzaz and Dr. Valeriia Kozachenko when your bite and tooth shape suit them.
Ask whether your bite leaves enough room behind the teeth, how long the adjustment period might affect your speech, and how often adjustments are needed. Ask how to clean around the brackets and which retainer follows. The price is set in your written plan.
Questions about Lingual braces
Do lingual braces affect speech, and for how long?
Most people notice a slight lisp and tongue awareness at first, because the brackets sit where the tongue rests and touches when forming some sounds. Speech and tongue usually adapt within the first few weeks. Reading aloud and talking more in the early days tends to help. If you speak professionally, mention it to your orthodontist when planning the start date.
