Few-tooth cases
How is one or two veneers matched to the natural teeth beside them?
With a full set, every tooth is new and the shade is chosen once. With one or two veneers, the ceramic has to copy a living tooth next to it: its colour at the neck, its translucent edge, its surface texture and how it reflects light.

- Whiten first, if you want lighter teeth. Ceramic does not respond to whitening, so the natural teeth are whitened and left to settle before the shade is taken.
- Expect a possible second try-in. A single veneer is sometimes adjusted in the lab and tried again before bonding.
