Before: the situation
The upper front teeth show open spaces: a gap between the two central incisors and further spaces beside them, towards the lateral incisors. The lateral incisors look narrow next to the centrals, and the biting edge of the central incisors is slightly uneven, with a small step at one corner. The lower front teeth sit close together and are slightly irregular.
What was wrong, and why it matters
Spaces between the upper front teeth are often a question of tooth size rather than position: when the incisors are narrow for the width of the arch, gaps open up between them. Besides the look, open contacts let food pack between the teeth and leave the gum between them without support.
Closing the gaps by simply widening each tooth can make the front teeth look square and oversized. The extra width has to be shared across several teeth and checked against the bite, so that the new edges guide the jaw comfortably and are not overloaded.
The solution
The after photo shows the spaces closed and the upper front teeth brought to a matching width, length and lighter shade with new ceramic restorations that follow a smooth curve. The central incisors are now the dominant teeth, with the lateral incisors and canines stepping back in proportion.
In Dr. Marina's approach a case like this starts with measuring how much space there is and how it can be shared out, before anything is changed. A digital smile design and a mock-up let the patient see the proportions in the mouth first; natural tooth structure is kept wherever the design allows, and the new front edges are planned together with the bite. This is the thinking behind the course she attended in Dubai in February 2025 with Prof. Marcelo Calamita, "Esthetics & Integrating Occlusal Principles into Smile Design".
How a case like this is planned and carried out
Examination, clinical photographs and a digital scan of both jaws
Measuring the gaps and deciding how the width is shared between the front teeth
Digital smile design and a mock-up tried in the mouth before treatment
Restorations made with the ceramist in the dental lab in the same building
Checking the new front edges in the bite and in jaw movements
After: the result
The spaces between the upper front teeth are closed and the gum fills the areas between them. The front teeth have one even shade, rounded corners and a level biting edge, and the lateral incisors now look in proportion with the centrals.

In Dr. Marina Antoniuk’s words
Dr. Marina AntoniukWe carefully consider facial proportions, tooth positioning, smile aesthetics, function, and the long-term stability of treatment outcomes.
Here the gaps were treated as a question of proportion: how wide each front tooth should be for this smile, not only how to fill the space.

Questions about this kind of case
Can gaps between front teeth be closed without the teeth looking too wide?
Yes, if the spare space is shared across several teeth rather than added to one or two. At Creative Arts in Dubai, Dr. Marina Antoniuk measures the gaps, checks the bite and designs the new widths digitally, then tries them in the mouth as a mock-up. The patient sees the proportions before any treatment starts, and the design can still be adjusted at that stage.
Is there a Russian-speaking dentist in Dubai who closes gaps between front teeth?
Dr. Marina Antoniuk is a Russian-speaking dentist in Dubai at Creative Arts Dental & Aesthetics in Jumeirah. She speaks English and Russian, so the examination, the smile design and every stage of closing gaps between front teeth can be explained in either language. Her before-and-after cases, including this one, are published on her case pages so patients can see the kind of results she plans for.
