Planned around your diary

Smile Makeover for Executives and Public-Facing Professionals

If you present, negotiate or appear on camera, a smile makeover has extra constraints: when you can be in the chair, how you sound with temporaries and how the shade reads under bright lights.

  • Open 7 days, 10:00–20:00
  • Mock-up before any preparation

Quick answer

Can a smile makeover fit around a demanding work schedule?

Usually, yes, if it is planned around your diary rather than squeezed into it. At Creative Arts in Dubai the clinic is open every day from 10:00 to 20:00, so visits can be booked around work, including weekends. Your plan shows which stages need you in the chair, how long any temporaries are worn, and which low-downtime options, such as whitening or bonding, can be done between commitments. The design is tested as a mock-up first.

How a smile makeover is scheduled around work and travel

The clinical sequence is the same for everyone. What changes is that your fixed dates are built into the plan from the start.

  1. Consultation and records

Examination, photographs, scan and X-rays where needed. Share your travel, board meetings, filming or speaking dates.

    Visit 1
  2. Written plan with dates

Each stage, its chair time and the gaps between, itemised with alternatives, so you can see which weeks you need to be in Dubai.

    After diagnosis
  3. Design and mock-up

You see and hear the design in your own mouth. Record a short video call with it in place to check how it looks on camera.

    Design stage
  4. Preparation and temporaries

Booked for a day without a major speaking commitment immediately afterwards. Temporaries follow the approved design.

    Preparation visit
  5. Ceramic in the lab

Made at Creative Art Dental Lab in the same building; the lab stage typically takes a few working days, depending on complexity.

  6. Try-in, bonding and bite check

Colour and fit are approved before bonding, then the bite is balanced.

    Fitting visit
  7. Review

A short follow-up to check gums, bite and how you are speaking, with written aftercare.

Will temporaries or new veneers affect how I speak?

They can, briefly, and it helps to know which sounds to expect. The edges of the upper front teeth touch the lower lip for "F" and "V", and the tongue works close to the back of them for "S" and "TH". Any change in length, thickness or position can make these sounds feel different for a few days while your tongue adapts.

  • The mock-up is a rehearsal. Read a paragraph aloud and say your own name and your company's name with the mock-up in place. If something sounds wrong, the design can be changed before anything is prepared.
  • Temporaries copy the approved design, so they should feel similar to the mock-up. They are less strong than the final ceramic and can come loose with very hard or sticky food.
  • Leave a buffer. Avoid booking a keynote, a negotiation or a filming day immediately after preparation or fitting. A day or two lets the tongue settle and lets you practise.

More detail on wearing them is in our guide to temporary veneers. If a temporary comes loose, contact the clinic during opening hours.

On camera

How will a new smile look on video calls, stage and camera?

Cameras and bright lights treat teeth differently from the human eye, so it is worth designing for both.

  • Brightness. Ring lights, studio lights and phone cameras push whites brighter. A shade that looks just right in the chair can look stark on screen, so most people who are often filmed choose a slightly softer brightness. Our guide to choosing a tooth shade explains how to test it.
  • Surface and lustre. Very glossy, perfectly smooth ceramic can flare as a hot spot under strong light. Fine surface texture scatters light the way enamel does.
  • Translucency. A slightly translucent edge reads as natural in high-definition close-ups; a solid opaque white reads as restoration.

A camera-ready result does not need to be the whitest one. Our celebrity smile page describes the look; this page is about fitting the process around your work.

Practical planning

What professionals usually plan for before starting

The points that most often change the timing or the choice of treatment for people with busy, visible roles.

01

Weekend and evening visits

The clinic is open every day until 20:00, so longer appointments can be placed on days without meetings. See a dentist open every day.

02

Travel between visits

Plan preparation and fitting for a period when you are in Dubai, so you are not abroad for long with temporaries and can attend the review.

03

Staged treatment

Whitening or bonding can improve the smile quickly while a longer plan, such as aligners, runs in the background.

04

Grinding under stress

Many people clench during demanding periods. A bite assessment and a night guard protect ceramic and bonding from chipping.

Is it right now?

When a professional's smile makeover should go ahead, and when to wait

Usually a good time to start

  • You can be in Dubai for the weeks between preparation and fitting
  • Gums and teeth are healthy, or you have time to treat them first
  • You want to see and hear the design before committing
  • You are open to a conservative option if it achieves the goal

Better to rethink the timing or the plan

  • A major event is days away; whitening or bonding may be the sensible interim step
  • Heavy travel would leave you abroad for long with temporaries
  • You are being asked to choose a shade or design without a mock-up
  • Active gum disease or untreated grinding

Why a laboratory in the same building saves you visits

Veneers and crowns are made at Creative Art Dental Lab, in the same building as the clinic. The ceramist can see your teeth and shade in person under the same light as your dentist, and adjustments at try-in can be handled without sending work away, which keeps the number of trips to the clinic down.

  1. 1Consultation & records — examination, photographs and the radiographs your case needs
  2. 2Digital scan — an intraoral scan replaces impression trays for most cases
  3. 3Design — the restoration or smile is designed digitally and reviewed with you
  4. 4Lab fabrication — milled from ceramic, then hand-finished for shade and texture
  5. 5Try-in — shade, shape and fit checked in your mouth, adjusted in-house if needed
  6. 6Placement & review — bonded or cemented, bite balanced, reviewed afterwards

What a smile makeover for professionals usually includes

There is no special treatment for executives; the clinical options are the same as any smile makeover. The difference is in the planning. Many professionals start with a professional clean and teeth whitening, add composite bonding for chips or short edges, and consider veneers only where colour or shape cannot be corrected conservatively. Where crowding is the real issue, Invisalign clear aligners run quietly in the background.

If you are unsure whether you need a full ceramic smile or a tailored plan, our comparison of a smile makeover vs Hollywood smile sets out the difference, and a smile design consultation is where your options and dates are put on paper.

Patient questions

Frequently asked questions

How many visits does a smile makeover for a busy professional take?

It depends on the treatments. Whitening and bonding can be done in one or two visits. A veneer-based makeover usually involves a consultation, a design and mock-up visit, a preparation visit, a fitting visit and a review. Aligners or implants add months. Your plan lists every visit before you start.

Can I go back to work the same day after veneer preparation?

Most people do. Preparation is done under local anaesthetic, and the numbness usually wears off within a few hours. Some sensitivity to cold for a few days is common. It is wise not to schedule an important presentation for the same afternoon or the next day while you get used to the temporaries.

Will people notice my temporaries during meetings?

Temporaries are made from the approved design, so from a normal speaking distance they usually look like a slightly less refined version of the final smile. They are less glossy and translucent than ceramic. Most colleagues do not notice them; close-up camera work may show the difference.

Can my smile makeover appointments be at weekends or in the evening?

The clinic is open seven days a week, including Friday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 20:00, so appointments can be placed on days and times that avoid your meetings, subject to availability. Book longer visits, such as preparation, well ahead.

What is the fastest smile makeover option before an important event?

If the event is close, a professional clean, whitening and composite bonding are the realistic options, because they are quick and do not involve temporaries. Veneers need design, a mock-up and laboratory time, and should not be rushed to meet a date.

Can I travel abroad in the middle of a smile makeover?

Usually, between stages. The period to avoid is the time between preparation and fitting, when you have temporaries, and the review after fitting. Plan these for weeks when you are in Dubai, and travel during design stages or after the review.

Which shade suits a smile makeover for someone on camera?

Often a slightly softer brightness than you would choose in the chair, because studio lights and cameras make whites look brighter. Texture and a translucent edge help ceramic look natural in close-ups. Test the mock-up on a video call before the shade is finalised.
