Quick answer

How does a dentist send a case to Creative Art Dental Lab?

Send the scan files (3Shape, Medit or most other major systems) with a prescription giving tooth numbers, material, shade and margin notes, plus shade photos and the bite. Creative Art Dental Lab confirms receipt, raises any questions, then designs, makes and finishes the work. Turnaround is typically 3–5 working days depending on complexity, and collection and delivery within Dubai can be coordinated. Lab line: +971 56 979 2929.

Who the lab works with

Which dentists and clinics send cases to the lab?

Creative Art Dental Lab has operated for 27 years. It makes the restorations for the dentists at Creative Arts in the same building, and works for outside practices: 800+ doctors and clinics in Dubai, by the lab's own published count.

Who sends work to the lab

  • Dentists at Creative Arts, who plan cases with the technicians in person
  • Independent dentists and group clinics in Dubai sending digital scans
  • Practices restoring implants they have placed, from single units to full arches
  • Clinics needing 3D-printed models or surgical guides from their own plan

What the lab does not do

  • Diagnose, plan treatment or see patients clinically
  • Place implants or perform any surgery
  • Manufacture crowns or veneers the same day (same-day work is limited to adjustments)
  • Promise a delivery date before reviewing the case and the schedule
What the lab makes

Restorations and digital work made in the lab

Design, milling, 3D printing, layering, staining and glazing all take place in the lab. Material is your clinical call; the technician will flag a design or thickness that looks risky for it.

01

Veneers — feldspathic and E.max

Hand-layered feldspathic porcelain veneers for thin, highly aesthetic cases on good enamel; E.max where you want more strength with good translucency.

02

Crowns and bridges

Zirconia, layered for visible teeth or monolithic where strength comes first, and E.max for single units where light transmission matters.

03

Implant restorations and full arches

Implant crowns and implant-supported full-arch prostheses with screw-access channels and pink gingival ceramic where tissue has been lost. See implant restorations.

04

Smile design and mock-ups

A digital design of the proposed smile, turned into a physical mock-up so you and your patient can review it before any irreversible preparation.

05

3D-printed models and surgical guides

Printed models for checking fit and contacts, and surgical guides printed from your implant plan.

How to send a case

How to send a case: from scan to delivery

Most delays come from missing information, not production. A complete case on the first send is the quickest case.

  1. Send the scan files

Export from 3Shape, Medit or most other major systems: prepared arch, opposing arch and bite. Check margins on screen first.

    Your clinic
  2. Add the prescription

Tooth numbers, restoration type, material, target and stump shade, preparation and margin notes, and the date you need it back.

    Your clinic
  3. Attach shade photos

Retracted photos with the shade tab in frame are helpful, plus a polarised image if available. For implants add system, platform and scan body.

    Your clinic
  4. Lab confirms and queries

The lab confirms receipt and raises any question, such as an unclear margin or a missing bite, before design starts.

    Lab
  5. Design and production

Designed digitally, milled or printed, then stained, glazed or hand-layered and checked for fit, contacts and occlusion on the model.

  6. Delivery or collection

Finished work returns to your clinic; collection and delivery within Dubai can be coordinated when the case is booked in.

What to include with a case

A checklist before you press send. Not every line applies to every case.

If you are unsure what a case needs, call the lab before scanning rather than after: +971 56 979 2929.

What turnaround should you plan around?

Typically 3–5 working days depending on complexity, counted from a complete case; multi-unit aesthetic work and full arches take longer. Urgent cases are discussed against the current schedule, so call before booking the fitting. Same-day work is limited to adjustments.

A single unit beside natural teeth is the hardest shade problem a lab gets.
Shade for partner clinics

How shade is handled for cases from other clinics

When the patient is not in the building, the technician works from what you send, so the photographs matter as much as the tab you chose.

  • Shade tab in the photo, level with the teeth and in the same plane.
  • Retracted views, plus a polarised image if you have the filter; it removes glare and shows internal colour.
  • Stump shade for discoloured preparations.
  • Character notes: translucent edges, white spots, surface texture.

For the clinic's own patients, the technician can see the teeth in person under the same light as the dentist. More on custom shade matching.

Communication and case support

Who you talk to about a case

The lab has its own line and inbox, separate from the clinic: +971 56 979 2929 and [email protected]. Questions about a case in progress go there: a margin to discuss, a change of shade, a design query before milling.

If a restoration needs work at try-in, small adjustments to contacts, occlusion or stain can often be made the same day; anything more is agreed with the lab case by case.

Materials

Which material for which restoration?

No single ceramic suits every case. The choice depends on the tooth, the bite, the preparation and visibility, and it is the dentist's decision.

MaterialTypical useNotes
Feldspathic porcelainThin, highly aesthetic veneers on good enamelHand-layered; the most natural optics, but depends on bonding to enamel for strength
E.max (lithium disilicate)Veneers, anterior and premolar crownsGood translucency with moderate strength; bonded; can be stained or layered
Layered zirconiaVisible crowns and bridges, implant restorationsStrong core with layered ceramic for colour depth; the layer needs good support
Monolithic zirconiaPosterior crowns, bridges, heavy bites, limited clearanceHighest strength, less translucency; stained and glazed rather than layered
Pink gingival ceramicFull-arch and implant cases with lost gum tissueRestores the transition between teeth and gum; shade and contour planned with the dentist

Patient questions

Frequently asked questions

Which scanners and file formats do you accept?

Scan files from 3Shape and Medit, and from most other major intraoral systems. Send the prepared arch, the opposing arch and the bite. If you use a less common system, call the lab on +971 56 979 2929 before the first case to confirm which export to use.

What turnaround should I expect?

Typically 3–5 working days depending on complexity, counted from a complete case. Larger aesthetic cases and full arches take longer. Urgent cases are discussed against the lab's current schedule, so call before booking your patient's fitting rather than assuming a date.

Do you collect and deliver in Dubai?

Yes. Collection and delivery of cases within Dubai can be coordinated with the lab. Arrange it when you book the case in, so delivery and your fitting appointment line up. The lab is open Monday to Saturday, 10:00–20:00, and closed on Sunday.

How do you handle shade for cases from other clinics?

The technician works from your shade tab selection and photographs. Retracted photos with the tab in frame help most, plus a polarised image if you have one and the stump shade for discoloured preparations. If anything is unclear, the lab asks before finishing.

Can you restore implant cases?

Yes. The lab makes implant crowns and implant-supported full-arch prostheses with screw-access channels, including pink gingival ceramic. Send the implant system, platform and scan body details with the scan. Screw-retained or cemented is the dentist's decision, made case by case.

Can the lab help with smile design for my patients?

Yes. The lab can design the proposed smile digitally and turn it into a physical mock-up, so you and your patient review shape and length before any irreversible preparation. Send scans, face and retracted photos and your notes; the lab will confirm what else it needs.

How do I start working with the lab?

Call +971 56 979 2929 or email [email protected] with your clinic details and the work you usually send, or use the inquiry form on the main lab page. The lab will confirm how to send files, how collection and delivery work, and what to include with your first case.
