Is it better to get dental implants in Turkey or Dubai?
Neither is better by default; capable implant dentists work in both countries. The differences are practical. Implants usually need about three to six months to fuse with the bone, so treatment abroad normally means at least two trips, and quotes vary widely in what they include. At Creative Arts in Dubai, Gulf residents can have planning, surgery, final teeth and long-term maintenance close to home.
Why implants are a different decision from veneers
Turkey has many well-trained implant dentists and modern clinics, and plenty of Gulf patients have had implants there without problems. The useful question is not which country is better, but how implant treatment fits around travel.
That is where implants differ from cosmetic work. We have compared veneers in Dubai and Turkey separately: veneers are bonded to existing teeth and can often be completed within one stay. An implant is a post, usually titanium, placed in the jawbone. It must heal into the bone before it can carry a tooth, then needs lifelong maintenance.
Can you get dental implants in one trip?
Usually not, if you mean permanent teeth. After placement, bone grows onto the implant surface, a process called osseointegration. It typically takes about three to six months, often less in the lower jaw than the upper, and longer after bone grafting or a sinus lift.
So a "one-week implant package" normally means the implants are placed, often with a temporary, on the first trip, and the final crowns or bridge are fitted on a second trip months later. That is sound practice, not a shortcut; just check that the package says so plainly and the price covers both stages. Placing an implant straight after an extraction, or attaching a fixed temporary soon after surgery, is sometimes possible, but it depends on the bone and implant stability on the day, so do not book flights around it. Our guide to implant stages and recovery explains each step.
What a two-trip implant plan usually looks like
The gaps between stages are set by healing, not by the clinic.
Before you travel
Send photographs and recent X-rays for a provisional opinion. Bone volume can only be judged on a 3D scan.
RemoteFirst trip: surgery
Examination, CBCT imaging and a written plan, then extractions, grafting if needed and implant placement under local anaesthetic, with a temporary where appropriate.
Trip 1Healing at home
The implant integrates with the bone. Agree in advance who will check healing once you have flown home. A graft that must heal first can add a trip.
About 3–6 monthsSecond trip: final teeth
Integration is checked, then the crown or bridge is scanned, made, tried in and fitted. Lab work typically takes several working days.
Trip 2Maintenance for life
Hygiene visits, periodic X-rays and checks of the bite and screws.

Turkey vs Dubai for implants: a fair comparison
General patterns for a Gulf resident, not rules. Clinics in either country differ, so ask each one directly.
| Treatment in Turkey | Treatment in Dubai | |
|---|---|---|
| Trips | Usually two, sometimes three, each with flights and hotel | Appointments around normal life, or short flights from elsewhere in the Gulf |
| Healing period | Spent far from the surgeon who placed the implant | Spent near the surgeon, with checks easy to arrange |
| Follow-up and problems | Return trip, remote advice, or a local dentist | Same clinic for reviews, repairs and maintenance |
| Language | Many clinics have Arabic- or English-speaking coordinators; ask who you will speak to clinically | Arabic and English widely used |
| Treatment fee | Headline quotes often lower | Headline quotes often higher |
| Total cost | Fee plus flights, hotels and time off for each trip | Fee, plus travel only if you live outside the UAE |
| Licensing | Ministry of Health; check the official register | DHA in Dubai, MOHAP or the emirate's authority elsewhere; check the official register |
No prices are given. Published implant fees vary widely in both countries; compare complete written quotes.
Why do implant quotes differ so much?
Before comparing a quote from Istanbul with one from Dubai, check what each covers:
- The implant itself, and the abutment that connects it to the tooth (stock or custom-made).
- The crown or bridge and its material, such as zirconia or porcelain fused to metal.
- Grafting or a sinus lift, often priced separately and confirmed only after a CBCT scan.
- The temporary worn during healing.
- CBCT imaging and planning, including any surgical guide.
- Follow-up: reviews, X-rays and adjustments after fitting.
The implant system matters too. Manufacturers range from long-established systems distributed internationally to lesser-known ones. The practical question is whether a dentist at home can identify it and obtain compatible parts years later.
For full-arch cases, the number of implants and type of bridge also change the total. Our implant cost guide shows how a written quote is built up, and the All-on-4 full-arch page covers whole-jaw planning.
Compare the total, not the headline
Add every flight, hotel night and day off work, plus a possible extra trip. A lower fee abroad can still be the right choice; decide with the full picture in view.
Who looks after the implant when you are home?
Most implants settle without trouble, but some things can need attention over the years:
- A loose crown. Often a loose screw rather than a loose implant, and usually fixable, but it needs the right driver and parts for that system.
- A broken temporary during healing. It should be repaired promptly so it does not overload the implant.
- Bleeding, swelling or pus around an implant. This may be mucositis (gum inflammation alone) or peri-implantitis, where inflammation comes with bone loss. Smoking, poor plaque control, uncontrolled diabetes and past gum disease raise the risk; it needs prompt assessment.
- An implant that does not integrate (early failure), or one that loses support years later, often through peri-implantitis or overload.
Any competent dentist can assess these, ideally with your records. Our page on implant problems and repair explains how implants placed elsewhere, including abroad, are assessed. With facial swelling and difficulty breathing or swallowing, go to a hospital emergency department straight away.
Which implant records should you bring home?
Repairing an implant placed by another clinic depends on knowing exactly what is in your mouth. Before you leave, ask for:
- The implant system's name, and each implant's diameter and length (many clinics provide an implant card).
- The abutment type and screw used for each crown.
- Copies of your CBCT scan and X-rays.
- Details of any graft or sinus lift, and a written treatment summary.
Without these, a dentist may have to identify the system from X-rays, and parts for less common systems can be hard to obtain.
Flying after implant surgery: plan for healing
Many patients travel within a few days of routine implant surgery, but there is no single rule; your surgeon should advise based on what was done. After a sinus lift, ask specifically about flying. Swelling usually peaks over the first two to three days, so build spare days into the first trip. Our aftercare guide covers the first days.
Questions to ask any implant clinic, in Turkey or Dubai
A clinic that answers these clearly, and in writing, is a good sign wherever it is.
Ask for written answers to
- Which implant system will you use, and is it available where I live?
- Does the quote include abutments, final crowns, temporaries, grafting and the CBCT scan?
- How many trips will I need, and how long should each be?
- What happens if an implant fails, or a crown loosens after I return home?
- Will I receive my implant details, scans and X-rays?
- Where can I check your licence?
Reasons to slow down
- Permanent teeth promised within a week as standard
- A fixed number of implants quoted before any 3D scan
- No clear plan for problems after you fly home

See our implant treatmentHow Creative Arts plans implants for overseas patients
At our clinic, implants are planned and placed by Dr. Khalid Saeed and Dr. Kinan Bonni. The sequence is: examination and CBCT imaging, a written itemised plan with alternatives before any commitment, digital planning (with a 3D-printed surgical guide where the case calls for it), surgery under local anaesthetic, and reviews with written aftercare. Final teeth are made by Creative Art Dental Lab in the same building.
From outside the UAE, you can send photographs and X-rays for a provisional opinion before booking travel; implant cases usually need two visits. See our international patients page and the guide to planning treatment from abroad.
