Squarer outlines
Central incisors with straighter sides and squarer corners. The line angles — where the front surface turns towards the side — are placed so teeth look broad rather than narrow.
The usual worry about veneers is looking fake. For men, that comes down to tooth shape, edge design, texture and shade — and to a bite strong enough to chip thin ceramic.
The first visit covers examination, photographs and a written plan. Nothing irreversible happens until you approve a mock-up.

Often, yes, because the design should follow the face. Veneers planned for a man commonly use squarer outlines, flatter and more even biting edges, visible surface texture and a shade chosen to suit the face rather than the whitest tab. At Creative Arts in Dubai these choices are tested in a mock-up first, and the bite is checked, because grinding and strong bite forces affect material and edge design.
Smile design has long described these tendencies. They are starting points for your face, not a template.

A flatter edge line with small corner notches between the teeth. Rounded corners, open notches and a strong curve read as softer.
Fine vertical and horizontal texture scatters light the way enamel does. A glassy, perfectly smooth surface is one of the quickest giveaways of veneers.
Defined canine tips frame the smile. Canines also guide the jaw when it moves sideways, so their shape is a bite decision as well as an aesthetic one.

Brightness — what dentists call value — matters more than hue. Ceramic that is both very bright and opaque reflects light like a tile, and at speaking distance it is the first thing people notice.
A brighter shade is a valid choice if you want it; it should not be the default. See our veneer shades guide, and the details that keep ceramic lifelike on natural-looking veneers.
Most men sit somewhere between the two columns; the mock-up is where you decide.
| Feature | More masculine | Softer |
|---|---|---|
| Outline | Squarer, straighter sides | More oval, rounded corners |
| Edge line | Flatter and more even | Curved, closely following the lower lip |
| Notches between edges | Small | More open |
| Central vs lateral length | Smaller step between them | More visible step |
| Canine tip | Defined | Rounded |
| Surface | Pronounced texture, lower lustre | Smoother, higher polish |
These are design tendencies, not rules tied to gender. Your face, age and preference decide.
On average, men generate higher maximum bite forces than women, and clenching or grinding is common in both. The ceramic is rarely the weak point; chips usually come from edges meeting opposing teeth in ways they were not designed for.
Our guide to veneers and teeth grinding goes further, and teeth grinding explains the condition itself.
Every stage before preparation can still be changed.
Bring photos of smiles you like or dislike. “Not too white” and “not too perfect” are useful instructions.

Design stageThe design goes onto your teeth in temporary material. See it in the mirror, on camera and at arm's length before approving it.
Before preparationConservative preparation, ceramic made and textured in the laboratory, then try-in, bonding, a bite check and review.
Fitting & review
Masculine texture and a believable shade are built into the ceramic by the ceramist at Creative Art Dental Lab, in the same building as the clinic. Because the ceramist can see your teeth in person under the same light as your dentist, texture and brightness are judged on you rather than on a photograph.
Some men want a bright, uniform smile; others want veneers nobody notices. Both are legitimate. The design follows what you ask for, within what your bite and gums can support, and the mock-up lets you check before anything is permanent.
The dentist who designs your smile with you prepares and bonds the veneers, with the ceramist involved from the design stage.
They can, when shape, texture and shade are designed for the face. Veneers look artificial on anyone when they are too white, too smooth, too thick or identical tooth to tooth. A mock-up lets you judge the look at normal speaking distance before any preparation, so you can ask for a squarer shape or a lower brightness.
There is no single shade. The aim is one that suits your skin, lips and any natural teeth that stay untreated, chosen in person rather than from the lightest tab. Men who want an understated result often prefer a shade close to well-whitened natural teeth; a brighter shade is a valid choice if you want it.
Often, with precautions. Grinding is the main reason veneers chip, so the bite is assessed first, edges are designed for forward and sideways movements, the material is chosen for the load, and a night guard is worn at night. Severe untreated grinding may make crowns or a different plan more sensible.
Yes. A Hollywood Smile simply means treating the whole visible smile, usually with veneers or crowns. It does not have to look bright and uniform; the same masculine choices apply — squarer outlines, flatter edges, texture and a moderate shade — and they are tested in the mock-up like any other design.
It depends on how many teeth show when you talk and smile, not on gender. Many people show six to ten upper teeth in a broad smile, but a plan can be as small as one or two teeth. Treating fewer teeth means the veneers must match the natural teeth beside them.
Not because of gender. Preparation depends on tooth position, the shape change in the approved design and the material. A squarer outline or a darker tooth can need a little more room in places, while teeth that need adding to may need very little. The design shows where enamel must be reduced before anything is done.
